it's technically playable but you're better off not bothering. I purchased for nostalgia, but dear god the ads are egregious. between every level there's an ad that you have to skip (and wait 5-10 seconds) THREE TIMES before it finally goes away. You can't make an IAP to remove them until you beat the first 10ish levels and even then the game is still flooded with ads, like only giving you 3/5 lawnmowers then making you watch an ad for each missing one. Anti-player design at its finest.

I should've read the reviews because it seems like everyone is having the same issue. I paid for the ad-free version, but am still getting ads. I am very annoyed at this. This is one of my favorite games, please fix this very irritating issue!! update: it has been a little over 3 years since my review. there have been updates to the game, but the ad issue has not been fixed. please do not advertise ad-free version if paying for it does nothing.

I'm not an OG player, so this is a rather unbiased opinion. I do greatly enjoy this game, it's never boring and honestly the ads are bearable. One problem I do have is the lag. Especially in the later levels, the game lags so much it takes me quite a long time to complete levels. Not even joking, it takes me up to 30 minutes at a time because the game runs so ridiculously slow. A snail could run a marathon before I complete 5 levels. It is quite fun though, and I recommend you give it a try.

After 4 months I started playing this game again. I've only been playing every other game, and for good reason. 1. They're removing lawn mowers in most, if not all of the levels. 2. The ads. My fist level in months Crazy Dave tells you something about ads. After the dialogue, a notification pops up saying want to buy an ad blocker, or something along those lines. This game used to be so fun, now EA drove this into the ground. If you want to play Plants vs Zombies, play the 2nd one.

It's plants vs. zombies. What more do I need to say? Edited after a few years. They blew this app up with ads. Its after every single level and sometimes the ad lasts longer than the level itself. I've been playing this game for decades and this is just insulting. I wanted to play again for nostalgia, but not this bad.

I absolutely love PVZ, I have been playing it for a long while and it has become my absolute favorite game. The only reason I give 4 stars is the god dang ads and monetization, it is getting way out of hand! This game was so fun to play on its own and the ads make it really hard to actually get in the game, along with you now having to watch an ad to get back your lawn mowers. Just turn off your Internet. edit: won't start half the time and it is really annoying now, moved to 3 stars.
