FAQ:
How did this app get on my phone and is it spyware?
This service is standard software, included by the manufacturer of your phone. It is not illegally downloaded, and it is not spyware. It will not cause system malfunctions or pop-up ads to appear. It is not bloatware and typically uses a max of 20 MB of space. For example, on a 16GB phone, this service takes up 0.0013% of space. We do not pay phone manufacturers to have this service pre-installed.
How can I remove this service?
Since this service is standard software, you’re unable to delete it from your phone. Instead, you can disable this service by following the manufacturer’s instructions. The typical process is: settings>applications>application manager>appropriate app>force stop>disable
Disabling this service will not affect your phone’s software. If, in the future, you require the ability to connect to services and devices via ANT+, just enable the service again.
NOTE: Since this is a factory installed service, it may enable/re-download if you reset and/or update your phone. Don’t panic! Just follow the instructions to disable it again.
Does this service track me without my knowledge?
No. The ANT Radio Service and ANT+ Plugins Service applications provide a wireless connectivity service, similar to Bluetooth or WiFi, but with very low power. These services do not collect any personal data.
Is it difficult to develop an app with ANT+ capabilities and is there a fee?
Using the ANT+ plugins in your app to communicate with ANT+ devices is quick, easy, free and uses a simple API. Visit the ANT Android Developer page (http://www.thisisant.com/developer/ant/ant-in-android) for more information and to download the SDK.

👍It’s not an actual “radio” app you use — it’s a background service that lets your phone talk to fitness gadgets like heart-rate monitors, bike sensors, and other ANT+ devices. Think of it like Bluetooth, but for certain sports and health tech. If you never use any of that stuff, the app just sits there doing nothing. It’s tiny — like under 200KB — and uses any battery. The reason people freak out is because it shows up on their phone and they can’t uninstall it.

I assumed this was yet another streaming music app. Upon furter investigation, I have no idea what it is, what it's for, or what it does. All their website says is that it's preinatalled and makes certain hardware function. My WiFi and bluetooth works just fine without it. All I can find are mentions of fitness devices, which I don't have. Why preinstall this on everyones phone if it's only useful to a select group of consumers? Try telling people what this is.

Garbage. When you uninstall. It doesnt disappear from your installed apps selection on play store. And the is also a plug in app that goes with it. When you uninstall any other app. It disappears from your list. And it wasnt preinstalled on my device. I downloaded from play store without reading reviews. If I had. I would have never installed.

ANT is a communication protocol like WiFi or Bluetooth, and allows your phone to connect to things like smart watches, activity trackers, studio bikes at the gym, even home-automation stuff. It is not Samsung specific, but some Samsung apps (and Garmin and Fujitsu and Adidas and Endomondo and ...) are enhanced by ANT technology. The size on my phone is less than 1MB - less than a single photo - so not exactly bloatware. This "app" allows the hardware to work so on a computer it's known as a "driver". Without it, features on your expensive phone will not work. If you don't update this app, some ANT devices you own may not work, or security leaks may not be fixed, leaving you unhappy. Apart from that the app has no features at all, it simply makes the hardware work so other apps can use it.

This is an INSTALLED App, (to the person who says it can be UNINSTALLED) you are wrong!!! It cannot be! Its an app which allows BigBrother to Control pretty much every aspect of your phone, it listens, it watches, it records, it changes the settings, it allows third world countries to use it for Amazon businesses, for teaching english programs, etc, etc. Come on do your research. Call it a conspiracy theory if that's what helps you sleep at night. HELLO!! REALITY CHECK, you are not in control.

WHY do we need an "ANT radio service" to ALWAYS run in the background..... Yeah it may run certain features in your phone properly but more than half the time this app isn't being used by me myself. This app was Installed by your carrier OR by the phone's manufacturer.... Can we just say that they're tracing our activities? 🚩[Step 2. Use an ANT USB stick along with a USB OTG cable to make the process work. If you have additional mobile gadgets, feel free to use them to simplify the procedure.]
