UPDATE-I decided to play Duskwood again and I am disappointed. There are now even more mini games. You have a 1 or 2 sentence interaction and have to do mini games again. Almost NO interaction or play time in between. Its became almost all mini games :( especially paying for premium, we should be able to skip them!! One of my absolute favorite games. The mini games can be a bit much and/or too hard at times. Besides that, this game is super fun & innovative I 100% recommend!!!

The puzzle solving in this game is a headache, boring, and way too hard. It's all the same. I would've loved for the hacking system to have a variety of puzzle games, not the same, yanky match 3. I would've given it 2.5 stars since the matching game is half of the continuity of the story itself: without solving these, you can't continue. But the story, UI, animations, and the characters are super cool and intriguing. These mystery type games are one of my favorites. That's why I keep playing.

It's been years, and I still revisit Duskwood. There are premium options to see, hear, or revisit evidence and to have romantic options with a couple of the characters. A one-time payment unlocks all it, but I don't remember the price, unfortunately. There are frequent breaks in the main storyline, too, and you have to play match 3 games in order to continue with the story. That being said, it's very immersive with phone calls, pictures, voice recordings, website searches, and more. Love it.

I played recently to see what the hype was about. It was pretty fun. High production value. Nice to see some real people, videos & pictures before AI ruined games. Pretty standard format. The mini games & ads are INCREDIBLY excessive. Even if you pay for the premium you STILL have to play them & watch ads. Really hard to immerse in the story when there's a mini game LITERALLY every 3-5 minutes. The ending was a bit anticlimactic, cinematic, sure, but I was a bit disappointed it ended abruptly.

I truly love this game, and the paid option is very worth it. But that being said, there should be an option to skip the mini games if you've purchased the media pack. Because this end-game mini game nonsense is getting so tiresome. 8 dollars for this game should have been enough to unlock everything and be able to skip the mini games if you're having a hard time bc the end game ones are getting quite tricky. Leaving it as it is... is just being greedy to penny pinch people to buy coins. imo.

A review from someone who paid for this app: Mixed feelings. Story is enjoyable, but near impossible to follow without forgetting where you are due to the amount of match 3 games that are in between. As other commenters have pointed out, you play up to an hour of mini games just to get a 5 minute or less interaction with the story. The way this app is shown in the play store is deceptive,really this is a match 3 game more than anything else. Paid players should at least get to skip some games.
