About this app

My Aurora Forecast is the best app for seeing the Northern Lights. Built with a sleek dark design, it appeals to both tourists and serious aurora watchers by telling you what you want to know - whether that is exactly how likely you are to see the aurora borealis or details about the solar winds and high-resolution sun imagery. With this app, you'll be seeing the Northern Lights in no time.

- Find the current KP index and how likely you are to see the Northern Lights.
- View a list of the best locations to view from right now.
- Map showing how strong the aurora is around the world, based on the SWPC ovation aurora forecast.
- Free push notifications and alerts when auroral activity is expected to be high.
- Forecasts for the next hour, several hours and several weeks so you can plan your Northern Lights viewing long in advance (subject to weather conditions).
- Solar wind statistics and sun imagery.
- View live aurora webcams from around the world.
- Tour information so if you're considering to go to locations such as Iceland or even Alaska or Canada, you'll be able to find tours that we can recommend to you.

This app is great for getting information fast, but not about notifying you at realistic times. I feel like there should be more notification settings for longer warning signs. Rather than only getting "chances are high right now," get "chances may be high within 24 hours." Without a heads up I sleep before I get the chance to look, and that's unfortunate. For reference, I live where chances are rare, so this is important to me.

My Aurora .... Gets 5 out of 5 stars I use this app. daily. Often multiple times per day. It hasn't ever failed me. When the KP index is getting high, I'm always notified. I'm still a rookie light chaser. I may not always understand the terms or all the information. But the answers and explanation in this app are super easy to find and understand. And it's free, so there are some ads. But it's a reasonable amount.

Extremely accurate. Not sure about the cloud cover in the map. It's unrealistic and looks horrible. The cloud percentage is also inaccurate. I just want to see the probabilities like we used to have. I know I can toggle to it to off but wish we could save our settings so the clouds do not load at all. I've used this app for years and recommend often. @toddgravenphotography on IG and FB. Thx for your help!!!

This app said there was 0% chance of an Aurora last night. My local weather forecast said there was an unusually good chance. I went out looking, and was able to see them. They were faint, but there. Busted my faith in this thing. Granted, the Aurora visible was not in the least bit vibrant, but to have no indication from this app was less than stellar.

Annoying ads that you can't get past unless you close the entire app. I have no problem with developers designing apps with ads but when it's this intrusive it doesn't make me want to buy the pro version. I'm uninstalling and going to use a competitor's app. I'd be more inclined to purchase the ad free version if it wasn't so frustrating and pushy.

I love using this app to predict whether if the Auroras will occur in my area. As of yesterday August 26th whenever I try opening the app under the long term forecast the app automatically logs me out. I get a pop up that says this app has a bug, try to update the app when the developer fixes the bug. Please fix this as I really enjoyed using this app. Thanks.
