About this app

Register your ALDI TALK SIM with with the APP. If your SIM is already registered you may start the video legitimation immediately.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Effective July 1st 2017 mobile telecommunication providers are required by law to check the identity of a user prior to to activating any prepaid SIM. Subsequently now an identity check is required in addition to registration. This can be done easily by video identification. Please have your valid ID ready when entering the video session.

The worst experience ever! More than 50 attempts to activate my SIM card – every single time they hung up as soon as they heard my accent or saw my foreign ID. No explanation, no help, no respect. Just veiled ****** and absolutely terrible customer service. Shame on ALDI TALK. I strongly advise any foreigner to avoid this provider completely.

Clunky, unintuitive and technically inadequate app. While data entry is as gruesome as usual, the document photographing / "scanning" (why everything that's scanned later must be entered manually is beyond common sense) is outright frustrating as the App is unable to keep focus and light settings from front to back scan, prohibits any user corrections and is also blocking the direct activation of the flashlight as well.

Unable to complete the registration process with a new Galaxy A8 and high speed wifi. Tried countless times. Error code 0 is not very helpful or user friendly! Btw the web interface has the same problem, tried different browsers on a fully updated windows 10 computer and a 200 Mb download / 20 Mb upload connection. Ended up doing the post-ident verification.

Terrible app! I have tried it with a smartphone and a tablet, both with good processors and high speed wifi and it simply wouldn't complete the identification call, same error over and over again... In the end I gave up and had to borrow a laptop with camera to do it over the website, because the stupid website wouldn't allow me to do it on neither phone or tablet...

Very irritating. Whenever I tried to make the pop-up window disappear it threw me back to the beginning. They were also not clear about what countries they were talking about with the Aufenhaltstitel / Aufenthaltserlaubnis. They asked for Stadtsangehörigkeit, when they should have been asking, what country did you buy your card in. Actually they should know that from the card number. It took me an hour and a half to get to the identification process. The identification process was great.

nearly 48 hours later, and still my SIM card does not work. Also, after using app to register my SIM, my phone is damaged. The call/media/ring volume adjustments are all mixed up, and my phone will no longer play media through a Bluetooth speaker. Aldi, you owe me a working sim card and a new phone. very disappointed
