Sleepers will have 4 or 5 sleep cycles during the night. Usually, sleepers will pass four sleep stages in one sleep cycle: Non-REM 1(between waking and sleep), Non-REM 2(light sleep), Non-REM 3(deep sleep), and REM (Rapid Eye Movement, when most dreaming happens) sleep. These stages progress cyclically from 1 through REM then begin again with stage 1. A complete sleep cycle takes an average of 90 to 110 minutes, with each stage lasting between 5 to 25 minutes.
Sleep Monitor uses both microphone and accelerator sensors to measure body movements and environmental noise changes and then recognize your sleep stages.

After seeing this app advertised on Instagram, I was excited to try it out due to a family history of sleep apnea and snoring, and possibly buy a monthly subscription. However, after trying out the app, not only does it have little to no free features, but there's no option for a monthly subscription, only annual. I don't feel comfortable paying for an entire year's worth of using the app just to access paywalled features. Please add a monthly subscription option.

I really dislike rating anything 1 star but this one deserves it. This sleep app was good during the trial so I decided to pay the $35 for the app and since then it's been terrible. The alarm never rings now. I set a smart timer or regular alarm that has a 30 min window and I set the monitoring of the app. (The alarm doesn't ring unless it's monitoring). Then I set for monitoring. My wakeup time will pass by and the alarm never rang. I have to set a backup alarm. sucks. Do not buy!!

BEWARE: I bought this app based on an advertised trial period that I could cancel. Even though I cancelled within a few hours, I was still charged for the entire month. Google Play refused to address it because it is apparently their policy that all sales were final and I was told to contact the company- who was foreign and, of course, did not assist. Bottom line: don't fall for the free trial language. The app isn't that great anyway.

Does not accurately track your sleep. It frequently misses times I'm in REM sleep. I know this because I'll wake up after a dream to use the restroom, so I know what time I was dreaming. The sleep noises it records is mostly my AC going on. You can barely hear anything in the recordings of other noises. Save your money, or try a different app. There's a reason sleep studies are expensive. They can't do a good job with a $30 app.

Works fine until you're ready to cancel your subscription. Here's my experience... I clicked on cancel subscription. They sent me to Google Play, where, NORMALLY, you SHOULD be able to cancel through. Except, the application is not listed within the list of subscriptions. Being that everything else works through this app, I have to assume that this is done intentionally. So I will give a 1 star being that this is shady as heck. Still unable to cancel my subscription. Do better.

The app is easy to download and free to use. I live alone and wasn't sure if I snored or talked in my sleep. But I have found myself waking up during the night and wondered if that was why. The first night I used it I had several episodes of snoring and talking in my sleep. Unfortunately you have to have premium to hear it. My Fitbit has always rated my sleep in the '70s to '80s. This app rated it really well in the high 90s. Interesting data to say the least... Now I want to know more!
