Updating my review to three stars for now. For five months, the app wouldn't allow me to login, but using the website was fine. I emailed them a third time a few weeks ago about the problem again. In the past two weeks, two updates were pushed out. The one I got today finally fixed the problem. I'm now able to login again, and could see my current rental.

The insurance options in the app are not the same as what they present to you at the rental office. The choices available here are better, but there's no way to find that out reliably until you use Gold for your first rental. I even called them to ask before making the reservation, only to find out different when I went to pick up the car. At least I got the car, but I almost wish I hadn't until it's time to turn it back in.

Never got to speak to an agent. Password reset link, don't work. It keeps asking for email. The AI chatbot doesn't connect you with anyone after you ask to speak or chat with Agent. It hangs up/ ends the chat. You can't find all the receipts. I don't receive all automated receipts like I signed up for. Overall, the website is a joke. This company only speaks to you when you're picking up a car cause they want their money.

Oh boy, where to begin. I suppose I'll get the good out of the way. When it does work, it's a great 5th choice to make/modify/cancel a reservation. It would be 6th but calling their phone robot holds that spot. This app has a decent user interface, too bad that whenever you click on ANY button it's almost like the app takes a nap. Connection issues run rampant and even when it can connect, somehow that doesn't make it better. Just use the website, it's marginally better.

Wow, the Hertz app truly offers a one-of-a-kind experience! I spent a delightful 30 minutes trying to upload pictures, dealing with mandatory fields that can't be edited, only to get server bad response errors. Let's not forget the credit card verification process that can't verify the same credit card from last trip. It's reassuring to know that, despite entering my details, I'll still get the joy of personally visiting the counter to complete my transaction. Everyone loves standing in line!

App doesn't work at all. Experiencing " service issues" all the time. No way to get a reservation. Gold membership is simply a scam since it's not possible to get the benefits. Back to Avis for me. Update: One year later and despite the response from Hertz to my last review, neither the app not the website work. There is simply no way to rent a car from this company. It's no wonder they went bankrupt. If you call them, they tell you to use the app or go online to rent a car and hang up on you.
