About this app
The Swachhata-MoHUA is the official app of Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs(MoHUA), GOI.
The app enables a citizen to post a civic-related issue (eg; a garbage dump) which is then forwarded to the city corporation concerned and thereafter assigned to the sanitary inspector of the particular ward.
The app has been redeveloped by CMS Computers.
How does it work?
Take a picture of the Civic-related issue using your smart phone, and post it in one of the following categories.
・Garbage dump
・Garbage vehicle not arrived
・Dustbins not cleaned
・Sweeping not done
・Dead animals
・Public toilet(s) cleaning
・Public toilet(s) blockage
・No water supply in public toilet(s)
・No electricity in public toilet(s)
The app will capture the location while the picture is being taken. Just type in the landmark of the complaint location. The complaint will then be assigned to the concerned sanitary inspector/engineer.
You can also vote up on any other complaint relevant to you. You will get regular updates on status of the complaint in the form of a push notification with the ‘Resolved’ image uploaded by the assigned sanitary inspector/engineer.
You can also reopen the complaint if you are not satisfied with the resolution of the complaint.
New Feature:
1. Don’t like what you posted? No problem! Our new feature now allows you to edit or delete your complaint. You can also post complaints by uploading photo from your phone’s Photo Gallery and then add the location of the complaint in our Swachhata App!!
2. Engineer can Login to Swachhata-MoHUA app feature.

Very poor service experience! Once you raise a complaint, there’s no option to track or follow up. You can’t even see the details of your complaint or the engineer assigned to it. After waiting for several weeks, when you call for an update, they simply say it’s the wrong number. Extremely frustrating and unprofessional service.

Not a user friendly app. It takes the location automatically. I am not able to update or change the location if I want to post the picture of my non-current area. So ideally I will need to stand there in the vicinity of garbage to mention the exact location.

The tickets assigned to an engineer never gets moving forward several weeks. problem with this platform is that , there is no next level governance and accountability . Hence , it is just an app to raise a ticket. If you are lucky someone will act on it. Most of the time there is no action .I tried this on a garbage dump near flyover in Nagavara ( Bangalore) for a and the ticket is still open for over a month with no action taken.

The features like complaint registration are so bad because of the UI, I can't express it in words. I think the development needs to read about material design and Android navigation before making another app. Like can you approve such type of app? Anyways, the functionality of the app, like after complaining an engineer was assigned and I was given a phone number to connect with. Guess what the phone is not working, I think now my complaint will just remain in the database. RIP complaint!!!

They are closing alert with random pictures. add user approval for solution as well as cancellation because when I didn't accept the solution that man is either cancelling the alert or he is not doing anything... isn't there any TAT ? please do something for this... we need an escalation matrix

After seeing this cleanliness app, I was thrilled that it would bring positive changes to our country. But as I used it, I realized it doesn't make much of a difference. No one comes to collect the trash. The garbage remains there for days. In my experience, this app is only 10- 20% effective. But it needs more updates and better features in collaboration with the government. Only then can it be useful.
