Mostly non-functional, but the dysfunction extends to the reservation system, so even calling can't fix it. Example - you cannot book two non-identical rooms as a single reservation. Different number of beds or occupants? You need a second reservation to do that. Utter garbage. Booking a single room generally goes OK, but doesn't always find locations, search filtering options are non-existent (who wants to look at hotels 40 miles away?), and prices don't match website. Pretty bad overall.

Can't use the app. Says my device is rooted when it's not. Automatically shuts down the app. No one is going to factory reset their device to hope that the app might work again. Edit: after uninstalling then reinstalling a couple more times, it now works. It works fine like it did for the first 10 minutes I had the app upon initial download. Edit2: after coming back to it after some time it's doing the same thing. Edit: 2 years later still doing it. Fail.

When the app works, it's great. However, since the last update, it crashes immediately with an alert about a bug. This was especially frustrating while traveling overseas without a computer, as I relied on my Android devices to book and contact hotels. The app's constant crashing made it nearly impossible to use. My phone is even overheating now as I write this, so I’m uninstalling the app.

The app is horrible when it comes to customer service, or it might be Marriott in general. In a digital age, they do not publish email addresses or have a chat option to reach a hotel. Instead, they publish in international numbers, which doesn't make any sense for foreign guests. Chat is also only available if you have an active booking, which, if you have issues with crediting, you're SOL.

Frequent crashes, trouble loading, and hard to use. Trying to use your mobile key to get into the room? Just take the plastic key out of your wallet..... saves you about 30 minutes of loading time. Want to book a room? Allow 3 to 5 business days for a list of hotels to load. Checking in or out? Definitely start doing that about 2 weeks before you even arrive. This app is SO BAD. It used to work GREAT and be an amazing app. But now, it's pure trash.

If you are using a corporate code then you still have to check in at the front desk, you can't get a mobile key before. Messages to the hotel went unanswered, such as for an extra blanket. The FAQs on the website about the issues were useless. I called reservations since that was the only number I could find listed. They said the technical support line was eliminated, and even he could not reach any technical staff within Marriott.
