About this app
Rav-Kav is a smart card used for payments in Israeli public transportation system.
As of Feb 2020 you can no longer pay cash on board for your bus rides, but don't worry, using this app you can top-up your card from any mobile phone with NFC support.
You can choose to top-up card with credit value, daily pass, weekly pass, 30 days pass or monthly pass. You can pay with any major credit and debit cards.
Contracts sold on this app are valid for your rides on Trains in Israel and in the following bus service operators: Dan, Egged, Metropoline, Kavim, Superbus, Afikim and more

You can now purchase student transit pass for the 2025-2026 academic year. Buying yearly or semester pass gives you an additional 50% discount when topping up credits for trips outside the pass range/means of transportation.

I tried to top up my card several times and got an error. My card value remained the same, but I still got charged from my bank account. I have received my refund, but that doesnt change the fact that the product has bug and the company should disable the service for a while to fix it. You should send receipts to people's email as well, like other apps do. Overall the app is okay, but can't rate it higher because of this bug that got my nerves playing.

Sometimes it works wonderful but other times it gives me error messages, and since I don't know and can't find the reason for the error online it's useless. Gives an error number and no more information. My phone NFC is working, tried all wifis I could for an hour, but useless. What is error nr 2? It's so stupid to give an error code that doesn't give any reason for failed top up!! It is frequently failing in this manner.

Still doesn't work - can't recognize foreign credit or debit cards. If they cannot get it right after all these years, what are the programmers paid for? I wasted 3 hours trying to get this piece of garbage to work. I got it to work briefly and now it has stopped again. They have had YEARS to fix this app.

Super annoying! Happened to me multiple times: I buy a daily contract, it bills me (I get SMS from the credit card) and after some waiting it says it fails and that I need to try again later. Retrying usually fails again. I had to pay multiple times for a carmelit and/or train trips out of pocket in additon to the contract befoe I managed to successfuly charge the Rav-Kav. I'm moving to another app.

It is to work but lately it's very weird and not as expected, sometime it accepted the card and other times it stopped accepting the card, this is the card that I'm using with this app for years. Now to the point that it's not accepting the card at all. Don't trust this app because you may get stuck especially when you're in a rush to load it.
