rollercoaster experience. it's never going to be as funny as it was 15 years ago but the gags are still solid and the community is fun the devs are morons though. they're always trying to find a new way to make an intrusive ad. now there are random pop-up ads that are clearly viruses . so just be ready to go into a cycle of dropping the app and using the web version with an ad blocker until they fix it (usually about a month) Rinse and repeat about every 6 months and you'll enjoy yourself

The app keeps getting updated, but not for the better. I've been on here for almost 10 years, but I've finally decided to leave a rating and likely leave the app due to these updates. Now I keep getting thrown back to the top every time I open the app, you can't block anonymous posters, you can't see dislikes anymore, and I keep accidentally pressing the wrong icons since they changed the UI. Just get reddit instead, I know that's what I'll be doing.

The app isn't customizable. You can follow tags you like, but it basically says, "Here's everything in your feed. You do the work to sort what you like, cuz we won't." The worst part is, it limits how many tags you can block. And because the users fill in the tag instead of selecting from a list, there are near infinite tags. Yet you can only block a limited number. And because of that, I have to just deal with constantly seeing anger inducing posts from people I don't agree with? Nope. Bye.

Update 5/9/23 : my guys, this is worse now. Freezing here and there and then we gotta force close the app then reopen only to have it freeze again. The update didn't do anything to help with the crashing of the app. don't know what's going on, but I've been hearing this commercial while scrolling that won't go away even if I play a video with audio on the app. have to keep closing the app for it to stop. any help would be cool. thanks!

The app has just continually gone downhill. Ads, so many ads! They have them at the bottom of the pages. They have them between every other post. They even have ads for their own content, while I'm currently browsing it. The ads load and the content doesn't. Sure they have a pro mode you can pay for. But there are plenty of other places I can find stuff to laugh at without all the filler. The load times can get ridiculous, videos play on repeat even if they aren't on the screen, but the ads and the random pop ups work just fine. They also ask for a rating so frequently that it's pretty much spam. Every update I hope for something to be better, but it just seems to get worse.

ADs play annoying music in the background. There is an ad at the bottom of the screen because I don't want to pay for the subscriptions. No big deal having an ad at the bottom. The problem is all the ads play music in the background when the audio is off, when another video in the app is playing, and sometimes it keeps playing the music even when I'm out of the app.
