I've been using Pixlr for years because there simply are certain things that Pixlr does best. Pixlr has remained relevant and useful through all these years even as other tools and technologies have been introduced. I finally believed it was time to let it go, though, as its differentiating features had been supposed by other tools, when to my great delight, Pixlr released new and extremely useful AI tools that set it apart once again! I wanted to be more specific, but... 500 character limit.

The ads have ruined this app. I get you need people to pay for your services but a 30-second ad EVERYtime you save a photo? Close the ad just to have another screep pop up to wait 5 more seconds just to make sure you didn't want to download that BS game. Now to efficiently use the ap you have to pay for it. Also I can't find the photos anywhere anymore that I save. I have to share them to another app just to save them now. I have had this app for years now. Time for a new one. 5 stars to 0 now.

The ads are ridiculously aggressive and remove all reason to use the app. If you go to try and save it loads a video ad that can't be closed to save your art. It's bad enough that I'm uninstalling this from my phone. Edit- ads are one thing. These are ads that take over the app and break it. Half the time they break the functionality of Pixlr itself so that I can't save or do the function I was trying to do in the first place.

This app became pretty much unusable when they added a "premium" plan, which locks basic features like [checks notes] saving an image as a PNG behind an $80 a year paywall. Definitely do not pay that lol. Just edit your picture how you want and screenshot it, it's essentially the same as saving as a PNG but you don't have to pay absurd prices for it! EDIT: yeah no, I stand by spending money on this app is a poor decision. Again, do NOT spend money to save your images. Just screenshot them.

For as long as I can remember I have been using Pixlr for any and all mobile photo editing. It was a lifesaver in many situations. That is why I am so sad to see it go. The ads are not worth sitting through and as most free digital tools and products, they have gotten greedy and forced in a paywall. Onto bigger and better apps.

Used to be great. Now it sucks. It was a free app that became a paid app and added AI. I can no longer save images after I edit them... unless I pay for a subscription. I used this app and loved this app for years until it changed and no longer works without a paid subscription. You're welcome for my free testing of your product. Thanks for the years of free use. It was good while it lasted. AI is lame.
