I enjoy the overall app. The issue for me is the microphone. The app hears me with moderate to long phrases but has a hard time hearing for very short phrases. It can be really frustrating, especially if it's a word or short phrase that I'm really having a hard time saying. Besides that issue, I like everything else about the app. Its very helpful.

This app makes learning a new language fun! The audio lessons make it feel like listening to a conversation, which is so important in learning how to use and speak the language, rather than snatches of a phrase like other language apps do. The audio also states how and why a sentence or phrase works the way it does, which is something I constantly struggle with. The flashcards, writing, and listening really reinforce what you learn! Overall, the app is worth every bit of money put into it.

I started out 5 stars but am dropping one. I think that the concept and interface are both outstanding but I'm starting to get frustrated with the length and wide scope of some of the Language and Culture lessons. They have too much info and need to be chunked better. Still a great product but I'm not as impressed as I was at first pass.

Rocket Japanese doesn't work properly after upgrading to a Pixel 10. When you try use the microphone to record your speech in the exercises you constantly get "speech recognition algorithm is currently busy" and recording doesn't work. Permissions have been enabled. I paid good money for this app and it should work the way it was intended.

I really like the mixture of opportunities to learn Italian: listening, speaking, writing, and especially the included explanations. The reviews said this was the best app for grammar, and I need that reinforcement. BUT, I am frustrated by the great number of times the microphone fails in the app. I cannot find any microphone settings anywhere. Help, please.

Voice recognition needs work. Okay it's been a little more than a week since I have had time to use the app and I still stand by my initial response. The voice recognition is simply not sophisticated enough to recognize a surprising amount of japanese words, specifically single or double syllable words, especially those with soft consonants. Larger sentences seem to fair better. Material and presentation wise, the app is excellent. The explanations and breakdowns are excellent.
