Although Sonic 2 isn't the game I always want to play, it's probably one of the best in the Classic Sonic era!! Everything is just an upgrade from Sonic the Hedgehog, there's more speed and less waiting, the music sounds great, and every level (for the most part) is fun to play! I like all of the things they fixed up, too. The smoothness of the game and special stages are a true improvement. But if there is one thing we all hate, it's the ads, which has always been a problem.

Great port of the game. Really fun and challenging, especially the later stages. Fun and addicting. Still a little upset about it being free with ads. Anyway, I noticed this weird little glitch where Tails appeared in my Sonic only save after getting a game over in my Sonic and Tails save and skipping it. Other than that little glitch, the game is amazing.

Controls are a bit wonky, Sometimes when I try to roll, sonic, knuckles, or whoever I'm playing as will go backward because of the sensitivity. If you have an Xbox or PS controller, pair it with your phone, but beware getting stuck in the pause menu. Otherwise, game is great, if you die you'll get an option for an ad to negate it. You get ads every death, and after each act, they do not pop up randomly while playing. Also, you can pay $2 to remove them. Solid 8/10, emulators better though.

It's a good version of the game with a great secret level. Unfortunately, the controls don't work too well. A lot of the time I will press a direction and the character won't move or I'll jump and they won't jump. It would also be great if Knuckles required three button taps to turn into Super Knuckles. That way you could still glide when you have all emeralds and 50+ rings without turning Super. A decent port with control problems.

The classic platforming speedrun experience, back and better than ever. Controls are smooth and responsive, the extra features are tons of fun, and the physic engine and improved special stages are spectacular. I did purchase the "Remove In-game ads," so I can't say how common they are. But the game itself is perfect. I did encounter one minor problem; Defeating the final boss causes the game to crash, and the end credits do not play. If not for that minor glitch, I would rate this game a 5/5.

Besides the ads, I genuinely can't think of a single negative aspect about this port. It controls extremely well for mobile standards, it has a save feature and multiple save files, it's in wide screen and improved the special stages, there's multiple options for how to play, the added modes are neat, and I mean... Come on! It's Sonic The freakin' Hedgehog 2! If you like old school games but don't have the consoles to play, this game and the port of the first game are easy recommendations.
