About this app

The Harp is a stringed musical instrument that has a number of individual strings running at an angle to its soundboard; the strings are plucked with the fingers. Harps have been known since antiquity in Asia, Africa and Europe, dating back at least as early as 3500 BC. The instrument had great popularity in Europe during the Middle Ages and Renaissance, where it evolved into a wide range of variants with new technologies, and was disseminated to Europe's colonies, finding particular popularity in Latin America. Although some ancient members of the harp family died out in the Near East and South Asia, descendants of early harps are still played in Myanmar and parts of Africa, and other defunct variants in Europe and Asia have been utilized by musicians in the modern era.

Harps vary globally in many ways. In terms of size, many smaller harps can be played on the lap, whereas larger harps are quite heavy and rest on the floor. Different harps may use strings of catgut, nylon, metal, or some combination. While all harps have a neck, resonator, and strings, frame harps have a pillar at their long end to support the strings, while open harps, such as arch harps and bow harps, do not. Modern harps also vary in techniques used to extend the range and chromaticism (e.g., adding sharps and flats) of the strings, such as adjusting a string's note mid-performance with levers or pedals which modify the pitch. The pedal harp is a standard instrument in the orchestra of the Romantic music era (ca. 1800–1910) and the contemporary music era.

Works and sounds amazing! a great way to practice harp. if you ever have spare time on your phone when you don't have your harp with you, you can use it to figure out songs. I'm not experienced with harp but they have the levers for the #s as well, if that's something you may be interested in! also, as a downloader I sometimes worry about a virus or a scam that might take my cc information to steal money- this app is REAL and completely SAFE. no ads either!

It's really smooth. It's got good tone. I was pretty impressed with the Reverb. It would be cool though if it told me that there was Reverb I found it in the settings. Some songs that I would recommend everything from Legend of Zelda LOL especially oot. But overall quite impressed. When playing songs I think it would be nice if the timing bar was lowered give you more time to see how the notes are coming. Plus you can't see the notes come to that timing bar on the really small strings.

Maybe it's just my phone, but the lag for me was unbearable. I'm a harpist in real life and downloaded this application because I have tendonitis and was looking forward to hearing harp noises even though my hands can no longer pluck the strings right now. Unfortunately there is a half second delay which makes playing this absolutely unpleasant. The audio samples are adequate at best. For the layman attempting to experience the joys of the harp I suppose this is one of the closer experiences.

You figure a lot for yourself but I like that. Listening to airplay is lovely and mesmerizing and begins training my mind for what to expect: playing the harp is very different from All other instruments I've learned. The arrangement is 3 dimensional where piano keys are basically 2 i.e. left to right, low to high. Very challenging for me. Edit: oh boy! Just discovered more instruments! Off I go...

Beautifull app. It works well without any time lag. However one improvement on changing sharp note is necessary. Its difficult to operate the small button/knob. Instead every string can be divided by single horizontal line, if we strike the upper part it should make sharp note, lower part will make the natural note. It will not be same as original harp, but it will be much easier to play with thumb only. There might be some other way too eliminate the pain too. I am waiting for this change.

I was looking for a lyre app so I could play something for D&D as my bard and I didn't expect to find this! It's Waaayy better than expected, adds aren't intrusive and it deserves some love for all the free songs it gives. It definitely needs more, and hopefully it does over time but otherwise this app is how more apps should be. It's not greedy or riddles with in app purchases.
