About this app
Piano Companion is a piano chords and scales dictionary with user libraries and reverse mode with a chord progression builder. Our free app has circle of fifths with compatible chords (or chord wheel). Using circle of fifths and chord progression builder you can compose songs and learn, play chords and scales. You can compose music using our real piano and use your MIDI keyboard to play and record songs. It helps you to learn music theory too.
If you can’t remember the name of a chord or scale, this app helps you to find it by keys (or MIDI keyboard). For example, just press C, G and you will get C Major as the first chord in the search result. If you don’t see a chord, you can create a custom chord and use it for chord charts or your user library.
The Piano Companion app shows chord and scale notes, degrees, fingering for both hands in major and minor scales – and you can contribute your own custom fingering too. Additionally, you can listen how a scale or chord sounds in the loop or arpeggiated and other music theory information. You can see the list of compatible chords in the selected scale or list of compatible scales for a selected chord.
The app helps you to experiment with different chord progressions using our Chord Progression Builder using relative or common chords and other music theory related chords.
Key features:
- 1500+ piano chords, up to 6th inversions such as: major, minor, diminished, augmented, sevenths, etc.

Career bassist that picked up a couple workstations during pandemic. I can figure out most chords. But, it's a nice to tool that can not only test your choices, but give you the correct chord and fingerings . Have used it consistently since I downloaded it. Of course there are options that can add additional cost. But there's plenty here for free. At the point I no longer need what's free. I can only imagine what the paid enhancements will bring to the table

I really like it, but now it won't make any sounds... My progression is there, but when I hit play... Nothing. Can you guys help me. I'll give 5 stars and buy the Pro version if this can be resolved. I'm on Android Galaxy Note 8. EDIT: Okay, I LOVE this app, I bought your PRO version... And it freezes more than the free one. Please, fix this. I bought it... I could really, really love it... Contact me...

Not a very intuitive design! Good reference material, and I haven't really found any inaccuracies, but I would prefer to see a scholarly notation, not a jazz notation, in chord names. That said, great for reference, but it doesn't really do anything. I needed a chord progression mapper, and this isn't it. I can find other apps that do the same. Just cumbersome.

I absolutely love it, I'm able to find all the chords I need even if I know a few notes only. While most use it for chord dictionary I actually wanted to use it for chord progressions, however I'm not too sure on how to use the chord progression part of the app. It's kinda confusing, with that being said I do think there should be videos on youtube or something like a tutorial going over the app in detail of all it can do. Especially on chord Progression. All in all it is a good app.

Great app for learning scales and various chord types .Just downloaded it ,when I exploit it to max,I could give it more stars Try to make payment method not limited only to debit card,it hinders people from buying your services in places where such payments facilities are not available

As an actual musician I like the fact that you can add chords and things based off of intervals like the extended chords but I do wish they were all there by default. Also it would be cool to have a ear training system in here like interval ear training to be exact. I would also love to see that this app utilizes drop chords and rootless chords alike with all extensions available.
