This is how it works:
1) You write a nice message, put it in a bottle, and throw it to the sea. Your bottle will be randomly received by someone, somewhere in the world.
2) If that person decides to keep the bottle, you have a new friend and you can start chatting with each other!
3) And if your message gets released, your bottle will float back into the sea to be received by another random stranger!
On Bottled you can:

Pretty good. It connects with a lot of people, though it would be nice if there was a level of fluency in a language setting to get matched with others who speak the language. I seem to continually get people who speak very little english, and its not a problem but it would be helpful to have a setting. Also, the system is great, and super easy to figure out. Though group chats would be cool if there was a setting where you could send multiple bottles for the same chat. Great app other than that

I like the app, but I wish I could be the only one able to contact whoever sent the bottles I'm keeping. Sometimes I just want to keep a nice bottle, but not necessarily start a conversation -- It's a bottle in the middle of the ocean after all. Overall, the app is good. Thank you for your hard work! (Edit: From 4 to 3 stars -- I don't know what happened after recent updates, but I can't receive any messages anymore. They show on notifications, but aren't in the app)

In terms of community & making friends, this is the best social app I've found. It's pretty easy to avoid less mannered people who don't understand what "goodbye" means, freeing you up to make friends with ease. In terms of the app itself, there are a lot of bugs, like chats not updating & bottles disappearing. There's also general issues like getting the same people/bottles over and over again. I know krakens send 50 copies, but I shouldn't be seeing 8 of those bottles with this many downloads

Too expensive. The cost is discouraging open communication. Fewer people keep bottles because they're more busy collecting enough to reach the world, which takes forever to accomplish. Also, the bug causing the text for the bottles to be hidden behind the keyboard is still there. Please fix. Furthermore, there should be an option to copy and release a bottle so a person can keep a nice message even if they don't want to communicate. Finally, an option to reply directly to a bottle.

This has never been the greatest app out there but it was sufficient and mostly worked. But after the last two updates...sure it looks pretty...but I am not getting notifications of bottles. But worse than that I will get a notification of a message but when I click on the chat...it doesn't show the message that I can see in the preview. Sometimes it will show up if I leave the chat open long enough but most times it just disappears. If I can't see my messages what's the point of the app?

Ok so, this app is amazing. I really like the fact that you can choose the age range you want, sense I am young I can also meet people my age instead of older people. One thing I do wish though it when someone is typing on the chat, it should put up a thing like "[insert person name] is typing... " Because it is really hard to know if they are still wanting to say something or not. And I don't want to cut off what they are saying. So far, my experience with this app has been nothing but good!
