I actually purchased this book. The best part about this book is it feels like you are making a real movie as a director or producer in the 1950's. You have to manage your stress levels and choose actors. As a simulator this game was fantastic. The romance in this game wasn't very good and the ending was abrupt. I would have given five stars if I liked the ending more but It felt rushed after the court case and the movie release.

I don't think I ever got so attached a fictional movie or cast of characters. I just adore the inclusion of the Red Scare (I was not particularly safe from it given I went with the trans casting choice along with being a communist who's bad at lying). And that ending I got, mwah! That little mystery that I can't spoil but wow. I ended up betraying a certain someone, thinking they deserved it but all it took was one little detail to make me feel terrible in a good way. Absolutely replaying it.

The McCarthy Era/Red Scare/Hollywood Blacklist subplot almost detracts from One of the Best choose your own adventure Management sims out there!! That being said the subplot is okay, it takes its cues from actual events that took place in the 50s. But what really shines here is the way you create, develop & manage your film from conception to post-production. The story uses real actors, actresses & directors and takes into account their filmography!! GREAT GAME!!

It was very fun. Simplistic and plain, but entertaining. The writing is good and there are lots of little details that make this better than the average game. It's just good, not great, though. It's very short and not all that exciting, but that doesn't mean it isn't enjoyable.

Excellent writing, great characters, and an option to create your own movie. What else could you wish for?
