What AirMirror: AirPlay Receiver Is Used For
AirMirror: AirPlay Receiver appears to be a receiver app for Android devices that lets an Apple device mirror its screen to the Android screen over a local network. Based on the metadata, it is commonly used when someone wants to display an iPhone, iPad, MacBook, or iMac on an Android phone for viewing, sharing, or presenting content. The app’s category and network-related permissions suggest it works as a casting and media-receiving tool rather than a general video player.
It may also be used to play back photos, videos, audio, and YouTube links sent from an Apple device, which makes it useful for informal sharing or small presentations. The metadata mentions support for multiple Apple devices, a passcode option, and window resizing/moving, so it appears designed for situations where several people may share content from nearby Apple devices. Because it uses Wi‑Fi and Bluetooth-related permissions, it likely depends on being on the same network or nearby network conditions for discovery and connection.
