This is the ONLY app that could actually see and delete a failed download that no other Android file manager or clearer app could find, even with the option to show hidden files turned on. The file was only viewable in Windows Explorer with the Android device connected to a PC, but Windows could not delete the file due to alleged write protection. It was clearly a corrupted file, and after trying numerous other Android apps, I hesitantly paid for this one, assuming it would be like all the rest. But it found the file and deleted it, and that alone was worth the money.

Simple and clean and I have purchased it a few times on different stores, but at this point its becoming more limited relative to other explorers. The SMB transfers are the slowest around (20MB/s vs 115MB/s on others, or vs ftp at 250MB/s (my network limit)), also cannot connect to FTP. I would purchase a Root Explorer 2 if it came out with the above.

Essential for out-of-the-box Android users. Quintessential software for rooted users. Intuitive, smooth-operating... Useful persistent notifications on file/folder transfers. Hands down -- the best file explorer for Android. User since '12 - worth every red cent.

Update: Problem resolved after removing permissions, rebooting, applying permissions again? Back to Great as normal!!//Can no longer copy file to SD Card? App crashes after"grant permissions" instruction dialog? I use it on all my devices....even the "not rooted" ones.

Suddenly doesn't support Google Drive. I have a paid version. Well I just tried to access files on Google drive, I was told that Google drive is no longer supported. I have no doubt that Google is doing annoying things. Am I even be willing to send a little bit of money to get a version that would work with Google drive. But just withdrawing support leads me to think that you know maybe this product is about to be taken over or ended.

20250910 This file manager STILL lacks the ability to display thumbnails of .webp files...in 2025...dispiriting. 20250909 Whenever I copy-paste a name to an image file (that apparently has an invalid character?) I end up with a question mark in place of said character, and I cannot rename (nor view) the image file. Oddly, I can view and rename the file when I connect my phone to my WINblows 10 computer. I can also view and rename the file...in another ANDROID file manager.
