I've been using the free version for about 7 years. Because I only want to see my home break, I never felt the need to get premium. Over the years, they restricted more features, and sometimes that thing happens where the 20 seconds you get to see the webcam get sped up and 20 counts down in less than 10 seconds. I'm once again disappointed that now they've restricted my beach to only that of yesterday's condition. I just want to see the cam, never mind fancy features. Now I've no use for it.

For the free version in SoCal: It's cool they have reports with wave height, temperature, and all, but they only come through twice a day, so if you check a couple hours after the first forecast, things might be totally different. That's why you might rely on the cams which might also help you see the set frequency, but the video is so short you miss a lot and the ads are incredibly long. They also never change, and it's for stuff nobody really cares about. Just a tip if your gonna have ads at least use cookies or something so the ads dont suck. As like the only black surfer from the LBC, no matter how many times you try to get me to watch the Nascar playoffs or go to Mammoth, I won't do it. I'm just not interested Haha. Otherwise, it's a pretty ok app.

Joke paywall. Stopped paying for this app years ago. Rip off. I know it's a forecast, so it will never be an exact science, but this service is unfortunately the worst at even coming close to being right. It's a pay service, the forecasters are lazy, what you see and what is written has been the polar opposite for as long as I can remember. I can't think of the last time their forecast was even close to being right. Not to mention it's a pay site and the app constantly crashes.

Really not a good app anymore, many cameras have been removed. The forecasting cast such a wide net that there's no real localized information to take from it. The smallest amount of effort on free weather sites will yield you better and more localized information. I would use the cams to confirm conditions at sunrise but as I said many cams have been removed. The remaining cams suffer outages regularly. Overall, NOT WORTH THE SUBSCRIPTION.

I keep receiving instant "video unexpectedly failed" notice when trying to view live cams. Not sure why as I was able to view love cams in the past then all of a sudden I can't. Frustrating. I could find no information to resolve issue. 05-19-21 UPDATE..... Just saw your response. Just to update, this app still will NOT open like it used to in the past. Very frustrating as I became to reply on the information. I just get "Surfline has stopped" instantly upon trying to open the app.

Fantastic app, but extremely better on iOS. The android version is so much worse and has practically half of the useful features as it's iOS counterpart. I pay for surf line premium, which I love, but on android you don't get specific spot reports, no ideal conditions information, no cam rewind, no pinch zoom in, and more missing features. It's a shame how much worse an app can be from one platform to another.
