About this app

Volcanoes & Earthquakes shows the latest earthquakes worldwide or only quakes near you, as well as earthquake "I-felt-it" reports for earthquakes, in near real-time. It also shows active volcanoes on a map and as a list, along with volcano news from all the world.
You can filter and display the data in various ways, for example by magnitude or age of earthquakes, distance from your location, volcano status and much more.

I was so impressed by what I saw I had to review it before I've even had it a day. This is what I was looking for! Deleted 2 other apps because this combined all the features they had plus offered more (hadn't even considered volcanoes before this). Robust settings options. Great sorting selections (time of occurrence, distance, magnitude, region, and more!). Ability to report felt earthquakes. There's so much I will run out of space if I try. Very impressed.

I just bought the pro version. Please if you want to make me happy, add custom alerts to mag 1 to 9. I downloaded these cool sound effects to match. that's only reason I paid for premium. currently is 4 to 7+. Also I'd like it if it would front load the location on the notification, cus I'm wearing a smart watch, it takes a long time for the location to appear on my watch compared to the other apps. I want to quickly look at my watch and see magnitude and location at an easy glance.

Volcanoes & Earthquakes is the perfect well thought-out and implemented app, with everything I need. Even in the free version, set your own thresholds, get lists of all quakes, those near you, and near volcanos. Also, different types of maps, news, sorting capabilities, and a large frequently updated DB. More, with no advertising, in the pro version. Great gustomer service — I suggested an addition; the creator got back to me, quickly, saying it would be in a subsequent update.

Normally, it is a 5 stars app, but for some unknown reason, there was no notification of the California recent events in my phone. In fact, in the list, there is only one. Filters and settings were rechecked multiple times. Something feels clumsy in the map, graphically overloaded. It is like it is getting busy doing other things and missing the primary real one goal.

I think this is one of the best volcano apps out there. The overall feel and presentation of it is very functional. I find it very interesting to read the brief descriptions that get reported from the population. Most people have no idea how many volcanoes and earthquakes are happening on the daily. I hope that maybe the app can save lives someday if it hasn't already. It gets so much action & the notifications can be adjusted to what you want to know . I love the data collection. Amazing world.

I do wish there were some more definitive stats, like how many earthquakes in the last 24 hrs, this week, this month, etc. I upgraded the app in hopes that this feature would be there. Great app though Just one other thing..and not that this is an app issue, but after I upgraded about an hour ago.. I have received 3 phone calls from a France number, I live in the US, it rings once and they hang up. I searched and found that this is a scam. Not the apps fault..I'm sure its google's fault!
