About this app
The free offline English dictionary and thesaurus with synonyms, related words and great search - and no adverts. Audio pronunciations are available with the separate Audio Edition app.
The comprehensive WordWeb dictionary database includes:
- 285,000 words, phrases and derived forms
- 225,000 word sense definitions
- 70,000 usage examples
- 85,000 text pronunciations
- Synonyms, similar and related words
- N. American, British, Australian and international English
The intelligent word entry suggests possible correct spellings as you type, as well as listing words that sound the same or are often confused.
Additional features include the ability to drill down on any word in a definition, full bookmark support and history.
Search features include:
- Alphabetical listing
- Spelling suggestions
- Sounds-like and often-confused
- Fast pattern-matching search (*, ?, vowel and consonant)
- Filter search results by noun, verb, adjective, adverbs

One of the best dictionary apps around! Yet only 3 stars. I super appreciate the absence of ads. I wish it offered audio pronunciation. But worse than that is the difficulty with conjugations. It's very hard to find the conjugation you want. When you're in the root word only a few conjugations show -- and they aren't labeled. Sometimes it's fine; but there's no consistency. Case in point: if you want to "clue someone in" you will be cluing them in. Or clueing them in. Which is it? Can't tell.

One major flaw makes this a Hard Pass for me. Predictive text when typing a word is TERRIBLE! If you are only one or two letters off in spelling, it can not figure out the word and gives you many options except the one you want. Example: If you want the word conjugate but type congugate or congigate it can't figure it out. My current app gets it perfect and suggests correct spelling immediately. This app is not for those needing quick, accurate results, and your word is part of the GLITCH!

Like lightning… I was using another (well known) dictionary app which suddenly stopped working - on contacting customer support I was told that the premium version for which I'd (obviously) paid was no longer supported and I'd have to download the ad-supported version (thanks for that…). So I thought I'd give this a go and the sheer speed at which your results are displayed is SHOCKING,; literally instantaneous, thanks devs, this is awesome 👍

This is one of my favorite dictionaries; however there are some inaccuracies within the app. When you search for words like "information" and "equipment," it shows you their plural forms as "informations" and "equipments," which are inaccurate since these words are mass nouns and do not have plural forms per se. Please fix this to avoid any confusion.

I've been using this app since a lot of time now. Got uninstalled by mistake.. wordweb is amazing. The definitions are simple and to the point. However, I would like to have Wordweb save the history of all the searched words in storage or something. It does save words to a particular point, after that though it just deletes the previously searched words. Also swiping on keyboard doesnt work on this app. I would really appreciate if the Wordweb team makes these changes in the future update.

Fantastic Dictionary! Have been using the free version of Wordweb for quite some time and I'm loving it. The only problem seems to be lack of efficient way to navigate the bookmarked words. It would be highly convinient if we could swipe to go to suceeding words instead of having to go back to the list again and again. Developers have done a great job creating this wonderful app. Cheers!
